Years 1 and 2
Welcome to Class 2′s Page. (Class 2 is made up of Years 1 and 2.)
Our Teacher is Mrs Tait, Mrs Bullerwell is our own teaching assistant.
Class 2's learning this term will include:
- Reading and writing about earth and space.
- Designing and making a rocket.
- Learning songs from the musical and creating our own musical compositions.
- Fractions, patterns and sequences in maths.
- Tennis – skills, activities and games that act as an introduction to golf in P.E.
- Learning about some of the customs and festivals associated with Judaism.
- We will also be carrying out assessments to measure children’s progress and consider next steps in learning.
- Daily phonics and mental maths. Regular handwriting sessions.
Reading at home is the best kind of homework you can do – aim for 10 minutes every night if possible.
Could we please ask for your support to ensure your child wears PE kit on both Tuesday and Thursday? Thank you.
In Class 2 we expect the bulk of children’s homework time to be devoted to varied and regular reading. 10 minutes a night really does make a difference, and adds up to just over an hour a week.
