Ponteland Partnership of Schools
Stamfordham Village School is a member of the Ponteland Partnership of Schools. Children spend a maximum of five years in the first school, and in the September following their 9th birthday, transfer to Ponteland Communtiy Middle School. At aged 13+ they transfer to Ponteland Community High, which is Specialist Language School. Transport is available to both schools from Stamfordham.
The purpose of homework is:
To help to develop an effective partnership between school and parents.
To extend school learning and to reinforce skills and understanding.
To encourage pupils, as they get older, to develop the confidence and self-discipline to study on their own.
Arrangements for homework
Homework should be planned to complement the work children are doing in the classroom and be appropriate for the age and ability of the pupils.
Teachers should try to maintain a regular weekly homework routine, and the work should not take pupils more than one hour a week to complete.
All pupils should a reading and or homework diary, through which we hope to develop effective communications between parent, pupils and teachers.
