Pre-School
About our Pre-School
We offer your child:
A smooth transition to full-time schooling. At the end of the pre-school year increasing amounts of time are spent with the reception class and pre-school children also attend weekly assemblies.
This process feeds naturally into reception. Our activities follow guidance laid down by the government for children aged 3-5 (Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage). Individual care and attention made possible by a high ratio of adults to children. Fun and friendship with children and other adults.
Opportunities for you and your family to be directly involved in the activities of the group and in your own child’s progress.
When and where we meet: We meet from 7.45am to 5.45 pm Monday to Friday during school term time, in Stamfordham Primary School.
Parking: There is ample free parking in the lay-by next to the school.
We believe parents are the first and most important educators of their young children.
The pre-school is a full day-care facility, including breakfast (from 7.45am) and after school club (until 5.30pm - 5.45pm) for children within the age ranges of two and five years old.
We were set up as a charitable organisation by local parents prior to 1980, and since that time, our pre-school has pursued a policy of progressive improvement in the care and education facilities it provides.
We are based within Stamfordham Primary's premises and have very close links with the school. A voluntary management committee of parents supports the work of the staff team.
