If you are a Parent/Carer with a pupil starting school in September then you have come to the right place on our school website. From now until the Autumn Term, this page will be dedicated to supporting you and your child as they transition into school.
We have set up a New Reception video channel (see below) which will offer tours of the Reception classrooms and outside area. We will also use this channel to share videos of Mrs Tait reading stories so that your children can begin familiarising themselves with the adults who will be working with them at school in September. There is also a ‘welcome’ video for adults which we recommend that you watch and a ‘welcome’ video for the children.
We understand that you may have an array of feelings and emotions linked to your child starting school, whether they are your first, last or somewhere in between, and we are here to support you all through this transition. We recognise also that your emotions, most likely your concerns and worries, are likely to be heightened as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and again we are here to support you and your child through this.
We are unable to offer all of the transition arrangements that we would like to: what we can say, however, is that we have come up with solutions to some of the barriers that are present at this time. Some of these solutions include video message and virtual tours of the environment.
We know how important transition visits and meetings are (for you and for us) and we will endeavour to ensure that any alternative arrangements offer you and your child the best opportunities to be prepared for starting school.
