What have we been up to?

  • Day 2 @ Kingswood!

    Tue 26 Sep 2017 CM/JC

    Hello from Kingswood!

Today's update includes death-defying leaps, outdoor lasers and bush craft.

We all slept very well last night and enjoyed a mouth-watering breakfast of bacon, sausages, hash browns and beans. We could also help ourselves to toast and cereals - hmm, yummy a great start to the day which we could all get used to!

We've really enjoyed today's activities which have included: the 3 G Swing (which was very high!), outdoor laser (like paintball, but with a laser, and Mrs Carter's favourite), quad biking, the leap of faith (from a platform of approx 2/3 stories high - Superman eat your heart out!) and bush craft shelter building.

Lunch was once again yummy - pizza and potato wedges, and we're enjoying tea at the moment before more fun and lots of giggles on the night line followed by a mini olympics - which apparantly involves hockey sticks and cones!

We're having a fabulous time and making lots of wonderful new friends here at Kingswood.  We've loved our stay, and the days are passing in a flash with the last sessions tomorrow before we come home again.

See you soon everyone at home!

  • Y5 @ Kingswood!

    Mon 25 Sep 2017 CM/JC

Hello Parents and Carers of children in Y5!

Here's our update for day 1...We have arrived safely, been on a tour of the site and met our room mates. We ate lunch together and it stopped raining as soon as we got here!  We then went straight into activity groups which took quite some organising as there are nearly 130 of us here from Ponteland!

Group X have taken part in: orienteering, indoor climbing and archery - and one of our group has just hit dead centre!

Group W have been out quad biking, on the outdoor laser and are now indoors on the climbing wall.

The food is yummy; we could help ourselves to the salad bar and chose a delicious main course of spicy chicken wings or lasagne and it was flapjack or fruit for pudding. We've lots more independence here than on other visits and have enjoyed some 'dorm time' - which included making our own beds!  We're getting together soon for campfire time and hot chocolate!

After a good night's sleep, tomorrow's activities include the 3G swing, the leap of faith and den making - all of which we are very excited about!

    More tomorrow everyone :-)

    Signing off from Kingswood!
