School Performance Data

Early Years

During the Reception year, pupils are continually assessed and at the end of Reception, a judgement is made as to whether they have achieved a good level of development.  Pupils also complete the Baseline Assessment within 6 weeks of joining Reception.  This is a National assessment delivered by the class teacher.

The Year 1 Phonics Check

The Year 1 Phonics Check is administered in June each year.  Pupils have to read 40 words (made up of real and nonsense words).  To achieve the expected standard in 2021/2022, pupils needed to read 32/40 words correctly.

Year 2 SATS

In May, pupils in Year 2 take assessments in reading and maths.  They are also teacher-assessed in writing and science.  They are then given an overall judgement of:

* working towards the expected standard

* working at the expected standard

*working at greater depth of the expected standard

In Science, pupils are judged as either not meeting / meeting the expected standard.

Year 6 SATS

Year 6 pupils take national tests in reading, SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) and mathematics.  Test papers are marked externally and pupils are then given a scaled score (100 being the expected standard).  Pupils are then given an overall judgement of:

* working towards the expected standard

* working at the expected standard

* working at greater depth of the expected standard

In Science, pupils are judged as either not meeting / meeting the expected standard.

We are determined to raise the standards of achievement, while remaining a wholly inclusive school where all children are valued.  Our aim is to help all pupils achieve their very best and fulfill their true potential while becoming lifelong learners and good citizens.  We prepare pupils for the next stage of their education by supporting them to be independent, reflective, creative and to work well together as a team.
